How to prepare for Filipino meals or ulams:
1. Boil with salt + 1/4 cup vinegar for 10 minutes
2. Rinse with cold water
3. Squeeze out the water and dry with towels
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until the smell is gone
5. Marinate in soy sauce, vinegar, garlic/onion powder, tocino/tapa seasonings, etc
6. Incorporate into viands or meals
